Introduction

Cawthorne Origins deals with the first three generations of the Fretwell family as listed in the outline family tree shown below. The fourth and succeeding generations are covered in Cawthorne and Beyond.

For reference Parish Registers provides a list of Fretwell rites of passage as recorded in the extant Cawthorne parish registers.

While much of the information has been verified, a reading of the following reveals numerous gaps to be plugged, and a number of questions yet to be answered. Any information that might assist in completing the picture will be gratefully received. I am only an email away!
